Outgoing
calls will no longer be free for Reliance Jio users. There has been a debate in
the telecom industry about Interconnect Usage Charge for quite some time.
Reliance
Jio wants TRAI to zero the interconnect charge. But at the moment this did not
happen and that's why Jio has taken this big decision.
Now
Reliance Jio users will have to pay for non-Jio calling. It is being
implemented from 10 October ie tomorrow.
Reliance
Jio has announced that now Jio users will have to pay 6 paise per minute for
calling on any other network. jio to Jio and landline will be free. However,
with this, Jio has also said that data of such value will be given free to the
users. In a way, it will be like a compensation.
Reliance
Jio has said in one of its statements that Jio users will now have to top up
the additional IUC for calling on other mobile networks and this will be
applicable from tomorrow . October 10.
Jio has
also said that till the termination charge TRAI does not zero, then the calling
money will be taken from the users. Currently this date is till 1 January 2020.
Postpaid
customers will also have to pay 6 paise per second, but the company will
increase the data limit to compensate for this in postpaid as well. This is the
first time that extra money will have to be paid to talk to Reliance Jio on
another network. Let me tell you that you will have to pay 5 paise every second
in addition to the month plan.
Significantly,
in 2017, TRAI reduced the interconnection usage charge i.e. IUC from 14 paise
to 6 paise and it was said that it will be removed by January 2020. But right
now this matter is in balance and this is the reason why Reliance Jio has
announced to take money for calling on non-Jio network. Because the money that
the company has given to other companies has to be repaid.
Reliance
Jio has released the top ups which you will have to do from tomorrow.
Customers
of Reliance Jio will be able to select from four types of top up vouchers. 124
rupees will be available for 10 rupees and the company will give 1GB data free.
By making a top up of 124 minutes i.e. Rs 10, you will be able to talk for 124
minutes on other networks.
Reliance
Jio has said that unless the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI
does not implement the system of zero termination, these charges will be
levied.
The second
voucher is for 20 rupees. Under this, you will get 249 minutes, that is, you
will be able to call a non-live number for this number of minutes. With this,
the company will give 2GB data free.
The third
voucher is 50 rupees. In this way, you will be able to call up to 656 minutes
on non-live network. Under this plan, the company will give you 5GB free data
The fourth
voucher will be of 100 rupees. Under this, calling up to 1362 minutes will be
available which will be for non-live. With this pack, the company will provide
10GB data free.
