Dinosaur (Latin: Dinosauria), which means large lizard in Greek language, was the world's most prominent vertebrate vertebrates for about 16 million years. It survived from the end of the Triassic period (about 23 million years ago) to the end of the Cretaceous period (approximately 6.5 million years ago), after which most of them became extinct due to the Cretaceous-Random Extinction event.
